Glo Premier League champions Kano Pillars have expressed confidence in their ability to emerge winners in the ongoing Super 4 pre-season tournament in Abuja.
Pillars won their opening match 2-0 against Dolphin with new signing Christian Obiozor scoring the second goal.
The club’s media officer, Idris Malikawa, told our correspondent that the team hope to emerge winners in the tournament, counting on the support of their fans.
Malikawa said, “Winning our first match doesn’t necessarily mean that we are the best team. As I’m talking to you, we are training at the National Stadium, Abuja. We are going to continue doing our best and at the end of the tournament, we will achieve what we are expected to achieve. With the support of everybody especially the government and the prayer of our fans we will reach our target.
“Our expectation is to emerge winners on this tournament but you football is about winning or losing. We are not expecting to lose. We hope to win. I’m assuring you that with the commitment of our players; the caliber of players and technical crew and the support of the management and the entire fans of Kano Pillars we are not expecting anything less than winning the tournament.
“The Pillars fans are ready to keep supporting the team and the government is also supporting the team so we are confident of meeting our target.”
